Homestay General Information

International students who are not living with their parents, are required to live with a Christian family. In addition to providing food and shelter, these families are required to:

  1. ensure that the student regularly attends church
  2. encourage the student to become part of the spiritual traditions of the family such as daily family prayer and/or devotions
  3. encourage the student to get involved with a church sponsored youth group
  4. support the school by ensuring that the student is on time for school, attends classes regularly and completes assigned homework
  5. open their home to an outside tutor if required

Within the first week of having the student in the home, host families and students are expected to download, read together and sign the International Students Expectations form. The signed form must be returned to the Secondary school office as soon as possible.

International students (and their parents) will have signed the Behavioural Contract for Interational Students. Home stay parents may want to peruse this contract for a better understanding of the school's expectations of the behaviour of International Students in and outside of school.

If you have questions about fees or other policies, please refer to Home Stay Fees and Policies.

If you are interested in becoming a home stay family, please complete the Home Stay Application form and return it to the Secondary School office.

Should you have any questions regarding the International Programme, please contact the International Programme Coordinator, John Slofstra.

Questions regarding the ESL classes should be directed to the ESL teacher, Malcolm Bromley.
