Medical Insurance When students arrive in Canada, they will need to have medical insurance. Before a student can qualify for participation in the British Columbia Medical Services Plan, they must live in British Columbia for three months. This means students will need to obtain Interim Medical Insurance. Interim Medical Insurance may be purchased from any company, however, there is a local company Strategic Financial Services, (endorsed by the Society of Christian Schools in BC) which can serve student needs. You can check their website for details, but in order to acquire coverage, you have to contact the International Program Coordinator, Mr. John Slofstra, and he will work with Strategic Financial Services to set up a medical plan.
